This Fish & Chip shop is so cute and right on the water. The food was so good!
Northland Trip: Taupo Bay
Taupo Bay, a secluded beach, though people crowd in when the weather warms and the surfs up. We stayed at a bach here with Travis and Tara for Travis' birthday. Tired from all of the travelling but it was nice hanging out at this spot.

Northland Trip: Matai Bay in Karikari Peninsula
14 October, 2017
It was the second morning of our road trip and it began to rain. Needing to get outside we decided to go for a drive to Matai Bay, a beach my partner, Sam had visited a lot over family vacations. The rain held off for us and I was able to bring the camera out again.
Matai Bay is great for camping, walking around the coast, kayaking, snorkelling and relaxing by the beach.
Tokerau Beach
We love getting up before the sun to go for a morning walk when we are away from home. I love a good sunrise and I love the feeling of being the first ones up. The clouds covered the sun on this morning but it was still as awesome as ever.

Northland Trip: Lighthouse
Visiting the top of New Zealand is something that’s been on the bucket list for some time.
The lighthouse is a short walk away from the carpark, stop and read a bit of the history and take in the views. I wish we had time to do some of the walks but we had a two hour drive back to the bach, if you’d like to do one make sure you plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time. The views are spectacular and I’m sure it would be well worth it!
See the two oceans collide, the Pacific and the Tasman sea. It’s pretty awesome to see!
Not far is the ninety mile beach sand dunes! It feels like a desert, there’s so much sand. Ride down the sand dunes – you can hire boards for $15 from a friendly local that will give you all the best tips on where to go first and how to stay safe. There are guided coach tours that drive along 90 Mile Beach.

Muriwai with the kiddos

We love Muriwai beach. It never gets old and the kids can stay there all day long. There something new to discover and explore every few meters.
