The flights have been long and it's been hard to sleep on a plane so last nights sleep was well appreciated.
We're staying in a hostel and both of our rooms are on the top floor, there's only one other room but it's vacant so it's like we have the whole place to ourselves. There's a lounge outside of our rooms and if you go a floor up there's a kitchen and amazing views of the city. You can see you much. I'm amazed by how people live here and definitely appreciate what we have at home.
While we drove to the hostel from the airport (Sarah and Troy met us there - their flight landed a few hours beforehand) I saw so many people driving around on scooters with three people on them, little children, no helmets, holding big TVs while driving on a scooter, people sitting on the back of Utes - everything seems so crazy to me, not like the others who've seen all of this before.
We walked around looking for food and had something at a Vietnamese place. While we were eating a man in the back room started yelling so loudly it was quite scary. We left shortly after!
We've got a full day planned today - Bangkok isn't a city where you can sit and relax so we've decided to do that when we get to the beaches. We'll be going to the Grand Palace, MBK - a big shopping mall, Troy wants to check out a medical museum and we might check out Wat Arun (a temple) if we have time. Later on well go to a rooftop bar and see the nightlife.
