One day in Singapore

01 June, 2018

Early morning we wake up and grab our things. Sam and the driver are waiting downstairs for us and we have a little chat before we head off to the airport.
The ride to the airport is a little sad because this is the last we'll be seeing Thailand and it's been such a good time.
When we get to the airport I have to say goodbye to the coral I've been hanging onto ever since phi phi. It's really sad to let it go. It's so beautiful and holds good memories.

The flight goes quick. I'm getting better at sleeping in planes.
We arrive in Singapore and grab a taxi. It's easy because someone's there organising it and there's a lot of taxis.
The taxi driver was talkative and friendly. He tells us that 85 percent of people live in apartments.
It's 55 minutes to drive from the north to south and 35 minutes from east to west. They take care of their trees and make sure that their branches are strong so that when a storm comes there are no branches fallen down. He said it was good because he didn't have a roof (he's bald!).

While we drive to our hostel, on the motorway, everywhere you see flowers, beautiful trees, the whole way. It's very, very clean.

When we reach the city, there are apartments. Lots of tall buildings. Apartment after apartment.

We reach the 7 wonders hostel. We have to wait for an hour until check in time which is 3pm. Our room has a bunk double bed in it and we share it with another couple. It's nothing amazing.

We go down to reception and learn how to get to Gardens by the Bay using the train. It was pretty awesome navigating around and learning how the trains work. couples getting close. People standing to the left on the escalator.

We get a little lost and walk the long way around. But finally we reach our destination.

Gardens by the Bay - the elevated walkways made me feel dizzy and headachey.

Cloud Garden was amazing! It just went on and on. By the end of it we were rushing through because our feet were so sore from all of the walking but we could have easily spent a whole day checking this place out! It was seriously amazing!

So high.

So many levels, so many paths and so much walking.

Crystal Mountain.

It was also projected onto the floor.

So pretty

These were magnify glasses so you could have a closer look at certain parts.

Flower Dome.

We walked quickly through the Flower Dome because we were so tired. Wish we had more time! It was beautiful.

Resting our tired feet by the river just outside.

Sign in the train. No durians!

Heading back home - mall. KFC. Mcds ice cream.
In the morning a wake early, grab our stuff and head out with time to spare. It's pouring down! I get my rain jacket out and sam grabs the umbrella. We go out the back door and head out the front. It's so wet. When we get to the other side we find cover and wait for a taxi. Sam spoke to the receptionist the night before and she said that there were plenty of taxi drivers 24/7 and that he didn't need to organise one beforehand. There aren't too many people on the road. A few taxis pass but they're busy or on call. Some time has passed and it's getting more annoying. Finally an available taxi goes past but doesn't even stop! It happens another time and we start to freak out.
I think the hostel reception opens at 7 so we head over. It's open and the guy thankfully gets a uber for us. It doesn't take too long for him to arrive but I'm not sure if we're going to get there on time. Thankfully we do. Back home we go!
